His untiring determination to create an African conglomerate of world-class standards prompted his delving immensely into oil and gas, mining, construction and entertainment industries. Yet Segun Adebutu didn’t attain the height overnight..
He started trading in oil and gas in 2004 and has since dedicated his effort and extensive knowledge of the industry towards playing a leading role in the market. The Mega Oil City in Ibefun, Ogun State is part of the outcomes of his huge investment and sacrifices into oil and gas industry. This project, if completed as planned, will be hub to a 250,000 barrel per-day capacity refinery, ultramodern lube plant, an LNG, LPG and power plant. It’s expected to create over 10000 direct and indirect jobs.
Asides being the Chairman and CEO of the Mega Oil City (Petrolex Oil & Gas Limited), he serves as the Executive Director and member of the Board of Premier Lotto Nigeria Limited. He is the Chairman of Blue bridge Marine and Oladiran Agro-Allied Company, Oladiran Engineering & Trade Limited. He equally ventured into entertainment business when he founded a music record label named Baseline Records which signed on music artistes like Skales, Saeon and others.
Segun Adebutu is also the founder, financier and chairman of Oladiran Olusegun Adebutu (OOA) Foundation, a not-for-profit and non-governmental organisation which was formally launched in October 2016 at Abeokuta, Ogun State. The foundation is committed to assisting orphans and vulnerable children through access to quality education, primary healthcare, nutrition as well as social and economic welfare.
